She didn't look at him anymore. He knew that it was too late for their marriage. Betrayal this time was over stepping the boundary. Twice already. They passed days and nights like strangers, polite yet unemotionally connected.

Lisa did not know what to do. Never expected to be in this position. Couldn't face the future, alone. Yet knew she couldn't bear to be in the same room with him let alone in the same house.

None of her family were around anymore, she didn't want to have to move again, relocate, make new friends, go over the same lies. She was tired of it all.

Jonas knew exactly what she was thinking. Wished he could turn back the clock to the beginning of their relationship, five hundred years ago.

Immortality isn't all that. I know it can seem so good but when you only have one mate and you hurt them it can seem like a living hell.

Lisa packed her bags and stood by the door, whispering goodbye. Unable to even speak properly.

When she was gone, Jonas started to cry.

Good one! Great twist near the end.

Six minute story is brilliant as a daily mental excercise to write on a variety of topics. It involves a lot of trial and error before I finish in the given time.

I am often surprised which of my stories receive the most views, often those I planned to delete.
