If your parents are going to name you after a song, there are a few things they should think about.

For a start, it needs to be a good song. Actually, no, it needs to be an actual name. Nobody wants a kid called "You know what they do to guys like us in prison."

But it still needs to be a good song. A really good one. Not some one-hit-wonder.

And it should be subtle. I mean, "Penny Lane" - that's obvious. "Layla"? Not so much.

Maybe I'll change my name to Layla, when the forms come through. Or I guess I could be Kate. Or maybe Rose. I'll let them follow their theme.

I don't dislike the name Lola, you understand. It's just not that easy to be named after that one song everyone knows about a transvestite.

It doesn't help that I'm tall, and I've been told I've got a dark brown voice (they may have been taking the piss).

I think I would've preferred to be called Waterloo Sunset.

Fantastic! The finest Kinks song and well-wrought homage to them.

Ladygirl of a British persuasion; sometimes I actually write stories that aren't depressing (but not very often)

I write for the http://jupiter-palladium.com, which is a webcomic about superheroes. Interesting ones. Cute ones, too. Which is nice. (It's cheerier than most things I write. That's where the happy goes, guys.)
