Write a story

In the beginning was the word, and the word was drummed in to Mel from an early age.

An interest in science made her realise that it is good to question what you are taught is a fact.

Later in life, experiences crossed her path like black tar; the type of visitors that you did not want to call, the events that you would not wish on anyone else. Instead of speaking to an invisible deity, she calmed herself by looking around her world.

Staring out to sea, was the most calming solution of all. Yet not available in a land locked dwelling, lacking transport. Learning to drive had never been top of her list of things to do. She longed for the sound of crashing waves on rocks.

A close second, running down a hillside or simply resting in the thick meadow at the bottom, watching the billowing white clouds race past. She lay barefoot, feeling at one with nature, ignoring the niggles that she should be asking for help elsewhere.

I don't care how it happened, but this world has more to offer than people realise. In the beginning was the word, but the ending was simply dust.
